Peter Lancken – Chairman and non-executive Director
Peter was the Managing Director of Kennards Hire Pty Limited (Kennards) for over 14 years and was appointed Chairman of Kennards in July 2011. Kennards is a leading supplier of small to medium tools and equipment to contractors, tradesmen and do-it-yourself markets. With annual sales of $240 million and over 100 locations, Peter has managed an era of growth which has seen Kennards branch network triple over the last five years. Peter joined Kennards from GKN Australia where he held the position of Group Managing Director for three years.
Peter is also the Deputy Chairman and Non-Executive Director of CMA Corporation Limited, a public company listed on the Australian Stock Exchange, and a Non-Executive Director of Acrow Formwork and Scaffolding Pty Ltd.
Peter has a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) degree from The University of New South Wales and a graduate diploma in Management Studies from the Mitchell College of Advanced Education and is a Fellow of The Institute of Engineers, Australia.
Stephen Day – Managing Director
Stephen is the Managing Director of Propertylink, a role that Stephen held with Echo prior to Echo being acquired by Propertylink.
Stephen established Echo in 2009 as a boutique property investment manager and property services business working exclusively with large institutional investors, corporates, sovereign wealth funds and pension funds.
Prior to establishing the Echo Capital Group, Stephen was the Executive Chairman and co-founder of the listed Valad Property Group. After founding Valad in 1995, Stephen guided the strategic growth of the company in Australia, and internationally, to become a funds management and property investment group with assets under management in excess of $10 billion.
Prior to establishing Valad, Stephen worked for 10 years in a number of roles at Lend Lease Corporation. He was responsible for the acquisition, development and management of commercial, industrial and residential projects across Australia. For a time he was based in Europe to establish a research based acquisition strategy for Lend Lease’s European funds management business.
Stephen has a degree in Economics and Accountancy from Macquarie University, is a Fellow of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (FRICS) and is a board member of the Australian chapter of the Asia Pacific Real Estate Association (APREA).
Christopher Ryan - non-executive Director
Chris is an Executive Director of the Investorlink group of companies, and specialises in corporate finance. He has a Bachelor of Financial Administration from the University of New England and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia. Chris has over 20 years experience in mergers and acquisitions, including capital and debt raisings, IPO’s and trade sales.
Chris recently completed a five year tenure as Non-Executive Chairman of listed company Bravura Solutions Limited (BVA). After achieving his primary objectives with BVA, Chris resigned as Chairman in September 2009 to concentrate on Investorlink’s opportunities emerging from China.
Derek Nix – Non-executive Director
Derek is the Managing Director and Principal of Nix Management Pty Ltd (Nix Management). Nix Management is a construction project management firm working principally in the commercial, industrial and retail sectors. Nix Management's clients include Colonial First State, Stockland, Charter Hall and other industry leaders.
Derek has over 35 years experience in the construction and property industry. He spent the early years of this time with Concrete Constructions Group Limited (CCL), where he was a Project Manager. From CCL Derek moved to the Reed Group Pty Ltd where, during a 17 year career he covered roles from Commercial Manager, Chief Estimator to Project Manager, becoming a Director in 1988 before leaving and forming Nix Management in 1999.
Derek has a Bachelor of Building with Honours degree from the New South Wales Institute of Technology (UTS) and is a member of the Property Council of Australia.
David Epper – Non-executive Director
David has over 40 years in the insurance underwriting business and is currently the Managing Director and Owner of Accident & Health International Underwriting Pty Ltd. David owned and operated this business from 1998 to 2011 before selling 50% of the business to CGU Insurance Australia.
David is also Chairman & Non-Executive Director of Dynamiq Pty Limited, a Non-Executive Director of SLE and a Director of Autism Spectrum Australia.
David holds a diploma in financial services and is a Senior Associate of The Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance (ANZIIF).
