Stephen Day – Managing Director
Stephen is the Managing Director of Propertylink, a role that Stephen held with Echo prior to Echo being acquired by Propertylink.
Stephen established Echo in 2009 as a boutique property investment manager and property services business working exclusively with large institutional investors, corporates, sovereign wealth funds and pension funds.
Prior to establishing the Echo Capital Group, Stephen was the Executive Chairman and co-founder of the listed Valad Property Group. After founding Valad in 1995, Stephen guided the strategic growth of the company in Australia, and internationally, to become a funds management and property investment group with assets under management in excess of $10 billion.
Prior to establishing Valad, Stephen worked for 10 years in a number of roles at Lend Lease Corporation. He was responsible for the acquisition, development and management of commercial, industrial and residential projects across Australia. For a time he was based in Europe to establish a research based acquisition strategy for Lend Lease’s European funds management business.
Stephen has a degree in Economics and Accountancy from Macquarie University, is a Fellow of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (FRICS) and is a board member of the Australian chapter of the Asia Pacific Real Estate Association (APREA).
Peter McDonald – Head of Property
Peter’s role with Propertylink is an all encompassing role, with specialisation in property acquisition and development, asset management and marketing and leasing management. Peter held the same role with Echo prior to Echo being acquired by Propertylink.
Prior to Echo, Peter held the position of Acquisition and Development Executive at Valad Property Group and was primarily responsible for many of the group’s direct property activities.
Prior to Valad Property Group, Peter held the roles of National Industrial Leasing Manager and National Industrial Acquisitions Manager over a 4 year period with Dexus Property Group. Prior to Dexus Property Group, Peter worked with Jones Lang LaSalle and Lend Lease over a 10 year period in industrial transactional and asset management roles.
Peter has previously acquired, developed and sold commercial and industrial properties across the major Australian property markets in excess of $2 billion.
Peter has an Associate Diploma in Business (Valuation), is a licensed real estate agent and was a member of the Industrial Committee of the Property Council of Australia for a 10 year period.
Greg Boyer – Head of Capital Projects and Infrastructure
Greg is responsible for the project management division within Propertylink including the design and construction works of Sydney's Royal North Shore Hospital.
Greg commenced his career as an engineer in the building and construction industry with Wormald International Ltd in 1982 and progressed into project management in 1989 when he joined Esso Australia Ltd as a project engineer. Following a period with Esso Australia Ltd, Greg furthered his project management experience on a number of large petrochemical projects for The Shell Company of Australia Ltd.
In 1994, Greg commenced the project management consulting business, over which time he has managed several major projects, including:
- Royal North Shore Hospital Redevelopment PPP (approx project value $780m)
- NSW New Schools 2 PPP (approx $170m project value)
- NSW New Schools 1 PPP (approx $110m project value)
- Regency Green industrial subdivision, Regents Park (approx $30m project value)
- Forum West, St Leonards (approx $300m project value)
- Wondakiah, Wollstonecraft (approx $280m project value)
Greg has a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) from the University of Technology, Sydney, a Master of Business Administration from Deakin University and is a member of the Australian Institute of Project Management.
Stuart Dawes – Head of Investment Management
Stuart is responsible for the investment management business within Propertylink, a role that Stuart held with Echo prior to Echo being acquired by Propertylink.
Stuart joined Echo in July 2009 to lead the development and management of investment offerings for the investment management business. In this role, Stuart focuses on the creation, implementation and management of investment strategies and programs for domestic and international investors.
Prior to joining Echo, Stuart worked in the United Kingdom for Lend Lease Investment Management, primarily focusing on the development of new fund and investment opportunities, managing Lend Lease’s business and property investments and securing the requisite capital for new investment initiatives. Before moving to the United Kingdom in 2003, Stuart also worked with Lend Lease in Australia on its wholesale fund, Australian Prime Property Fund.
Between leaving Australian and re-joining Lend Lease in the United Kingdom, Stuart worked for Barclays Capital in its European structured finance business, concentrating on debt and equity transactions within Europe.
Stuart has a degree in Commerce (Property Economics) from the University of Western Sydney and a Master of Applied Finance from Macquarie University.
Ian Tan – Company Secretary
Ian has over 20 years experience in the administration of investment portfolios, self managed superannuation funds, companies, trusts and property development projects.
Ian joined the Investorlink group in 1990 and has been company secretary of Propertylink since incorporation.
Ian is also company secretary of the Investorlink group of companies, an authorised representative of Investorlink Securities Limited and is ASIC PS146 accredited.
Tony Groth – Chief Financial Officer
Tony is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia with over 30 years experience in the financial services industry. Tony spent 17 years as a business services partner of a national firm of Chartered Accountants, gaining expertise in a wide range of industries.
Tony joined Investorlink as a member of the corporate advisory group in 2007.
Tony’s experience enhances the capabilities of Investorlink’s corporate advisory team, which has been responsible for the management and accounting of Propertylink since incorporation.
